Proper Candle Burning
Correct Candle Care While Burning Ensures Greater Safety And Satisfaction!

NEVER leave a burning candle unattended!

Candles have a *Melt Memory* which is why it is important to allow your candle to burn for at least one hour per inch of diameter of the candle container, particularly the first time you light the candle.

Three to four hours for a standard 16 oz. apothecary jar candle and two to three hours for a regular mouth pint size canning jar candle is average. This allows the wax to melt across the entire top of the candle reducing *tunneling* and incomplete burning.

Be sure to keep your wicks trimmed to about 1/4 inch, less if your candle *smokes*. Regardless of some candle companies' claims, it is the nature of fire to create smoke so keeping your wicks trimmed properly and regularly will help to ensure a safer burning experience.

Sometimes carbon buildup can create a *mushroom* on the wick, particularly in heavily scented candles. If this should occur, simply extinguish the flame, let it cool for a few moments, and snip it off before relighting!

   Best of all...ENJOY!
